It is that special time of the year again, kids are off from school and you are off from work. There is food everywhere and of course the grandparents like to feed their grand kids and you feel the junk food rules should be relaxed. That is where a lot of people have problem. In less than a week a lot of people will start exercising their new year’s resolutions, which – for most people, includes weight loss, healthy eating, exercising and so on. In our opinion, that is the wrong approach and people should try to set the stage for a smooth transition into implementing their healthy habit plans. Here are our top 10 holiday tips for moms to make sure they and their families remain in top shape during the holidays.
10. Think Healthy, Feel Healthy
Most important thing is to ensure you maintain your mindset about being healthy. While the fast food and soda companies will want you to think otherwise, don’t let their brands and glossy ads brainwash you. Think about the consequences of losing your health or that of your kids and family. Always remain positive and believe that your health remains your number one priority in life without which you will lose everything else around you. Half of the problem is solved if you know what you are dealing with.
9. Remember your last year’s resolution
Well, at the beginning of this year you were so determined that you will remain healthy, eat well and avoid junk food that you noticed some changes with your heatlh. If you were lucky, you stuck with your plans and you feel in top shape even now. Those resolutions are still in effect and you can not deviate from them. If you are still following your resolutions then kudos to you, it is time now to supplement those resolutions with new and better ones starting next week.
8. Plan your holiday in advance
We all have time off during these days in the year. Each of us celebrate the holidays differently. Make sure that you plan your holidays in advance, create a schedule for every day of the holiday season and ensure that you include exercise and physical activities in each of your daily plans. Every day you can have 30 minutes to 1 hour of moderate physical activity such as playing hide and seek, jumping, running or anything else that your kids and family like to do that involves physical movement.
